Last Fall was a truly special season. I had the joy of teaching in Palmerston, Harriston, and Mount Forest, bringing gentle movement and mindful Tai Chi to wonderful small-town communities. With a busy schedule, I taught every day, and each class became more than just an opportunity to practice—it was a moment to connect.
Looking back at the photos from my last day of class in Palmerston and Harriston, I am filled with gratitude. The pictures show only a handful of students, but in reality, each class was full of warm, dedicated people. That final session took place on a snowy day, with winter approaching and the roads not ideal for driving. Yet, those who came brought wonderful energy, commitment, and smiles that made the session truly memorable.
The 6-week series of Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention in both Palmerston and Harriston was designed to help participants move safely, gently, and mindfully. But more than that, it became a space for connection, encouragement, and shared laughter. In these classes, there was no competition—just a beautiful, slow rhythm of movement, breathing, and presence.
Teaching these classes reminded me that wellness is not just about physical health—it’s about community, friendship, and shared experiences. Small towns have a remarkable way of cultivating this energy, and I feel deeply honored to have been part of it.
Thank you to all my dedicated students in Palmerston and Harriston for your beautiful energy, commitment, and warmth. Whether you braved snowy roads or attended every session, your presence made each class meaningful and joyful.
Here’s to continuing to bring gentle movement and mindful wellness to small-town communities, one slow, mindful step at a time.
