Vintage Vitality™ Unfreezing Hour™ — Release tension, restore flow.
During the DOST-Cavite “Preparedness in Patriotism: Scholar-Heroes in Action” event, Founder Nelda Rodillo was invited by the PDRRMO Head to lead an impromptu Tai Chi Easy Unfreezing Hour™ session for scholars, the provincial director, and staff. In just 10–15 minutes, participants experienced laughter, relaxation, and renewed energy — a gentle pause that complemented the day’s theme of resilience and preparedness.
This spontaneous moment shows how Tai Chi Easy, Unfreezing Hour™, and Vintage Vitality™ bring calm and clarity into academic and government settings, bridging science, service, and mindfulness across communities in the Philippines and Canada.
Unfreezing Hour™ — Release tension, restore flow.

Yesterday, I found myself at the event “Preparedness in Patriotism: Scholar‑Heroes in Action” hosted by DOST‑Cavite—the provincial arm of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in the Philippines. DOST‑Cavite supports innovation, research, and community development through its programs for scholars and local institutions. This event celebrated the spirit of preparedness, patriotism, and service among DOST scholars—young minds being trained to become future leaders and innovators for the nation.
I wasn’t scheduled to teach, but sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones we don’t plan. As I waited, the PDRRMO Head approached me with a spontaneous request: “Can you share Tai Chi with everybody?” Without hesitation, I stepped forward. What followed was a brief but powerful Unfreezing Hour™ session, adapted into just 10–15 minutes, shared with DOST scholars, the provincial director, staff, and PDRRMO colleagues.

What began as an impromptu invitation quickly became a shared moment of fun, laughter, and release. After a serious discussion on preparedness and patriotism, the group welcomed the chance to breathe, move, and reconnect. Even in a shortened format, the Unfreezing Hour™ methodology delivered its essence—helping participants let go of stress and restore balance.
This encounter showed how wellness can complement science and civic service. In a setting focused on disaster preparedness and national resilience, Tai Chi became a bridge between physical readiness and emotional equilibrium. It reminded everyone that preparedness isn’t only about systems—it’s also about people who can stay calm, focused, and grounded under pressure.
For me, it was a reaffirmation of Vintage Vitality™’s mission: to make wellness accessible, adaptable, and authentic. For DOST‑Cavite and its scholars, it was a moment of renewal—a reminder that innovation and patriotism thrive best when the body and mind are in harmony.
As Vintage Vitality™ continues to grow across Canada and the Philippines, moments like this show the power of Tai Chi to bridge communities, institutions, and generations. Whether in a classroom, a barn, or a government event, the flow of mindful movement—and the flexibility of Unfreezing Hour™—always finds its place.
