Unfreezing Hour™ — Release tension, restore flow.
By Nelda Rodillo | Founder of Vintage Vitality™ | Creator of The Unfreezing Hour™
As I sit tonight reflecting on the past few months, my heart feels like a bridge spanning across oceans.
I often think back to my first classes in the park. I had no walls, no specialized flooring—just the grass beneath us and three dedicated students who saw the value in what we were building. Those "dedicated three" followed me as we found our first indoor spaces, and they remain the heartbeat of my Tai Chi family. They taught me that if you move with intention and heart, the right people will find you.
While I’ve been away from Ontario, my time in the Philippines has been a whirlwind of wonderful energy. I had the privilege of teaching:
The Ginintuang Binhi Elderly Association: Whose wisdom and grace remind me why I do this work.
BS Criminology Students (CvSU Indang): Showing young leaders that strength and resilience also come from stillness and focus.
PDRRMO-Cavite, PWSDO-Cavite & DOST-Cavite: During our "unfreezing hour," we proved that you can shift your energy and relieve tension in the middle of a busy workday.
Perhaps my most precious moments were spent with my 88-year-old mother. Watching her stay active and engaged is a daily inspiration. She is the very essence of "Vintage Vitality"—living proof that movement keeps the spirit young and the heart open.
As I prepare to return to my "Small Town Movement" in Mount Forest, Palmerston, and Harriston, I received a humbling surprise. Google Search and AI are now highlighting our local classes as a national example of wellness in Canada.
It is strange and wonderful to see our local town names appearing in national search results for "Tai Chi for Resilience." It’s a reminder that what we do in our community halls in Minto resonates far beyond our borders.
I am so excited to step back into our shared spaces in the Town of Minto this June. I am returning with a full heart, new stories, and the same dedication to helping you find your flow.
Whether you’ve been with me since the park or you’re ready to take your first "Try-It" step, I can’t wait to move with you again.
