Every year, May is recognized as National Arthritis Month—a time dedicated to raising awareness about arthritis, a condition that affects millions of people worldwide. In 2026, this observance continues to shine a light on the importance of early intervention, gentle movement, and community support in managing arthritis and improving quality of life.
Arthritis is not just about joint pain—it impacts mobility, independence, and emotional well-being. Yet, there is hope. Through mindful movement practices like Tai Chi, individuals can reclaim strength, balance, and confidence.
Across communities, National Arthritis Month is marked by:
Educational campaigns about prevention and management
Wellness programs promoting safe, low-impact movement
Community classes and workshops focused on mobility and balance
Support groups and storytelling, amplifying lived experiences
At its heart, this month is about empowerment through knowledge and movement.
This work is deeply personal to me.
My father lived with arthritis for many years, and I witnessed firsthand how it affected his mobility and daily life. Yet even as his health declined, his spirit of service never wavered.
He continued to support the Ginintuang Binhi Elderly Association, an organization he founded with my mother nearly 20 years ago. It was more than a community group—it was his legacy of care, connection, and dignity for older adults.
He passed away at the age of 91, carrying both the challenges of arthritis and the strength of a life devoted to others.
Today, every Tai Chi session I lead—especially with Ginintuang Binhi—is a quiet continuation of that legacy.
As part of this global movement, I am deeply honored to teach Sun-Style Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, a gentle and effective program designed specifically for:
Individuals living with arthritis
Older adults seeking better balance and mobility
Beginners looking for a safe and supportive way to start moving
This approach emphasizes:
Slow, flowing movements
Upright posture and small steps
Reduced joint strain
Improved stability and coordination
It is not just exercise—it is a practice of healing, awareness, and self-compassion.
This April 2026, I have the privilege of bringing Tai Chi to several communities here in the Philippines:
Ginintuang Binhi Elderly Association – supporting seniors in cultivating strength, balance, and connection
PDRRMO (Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office) – promoting resilience and well-being among community workers
BS Criminology Freshmen (starting April 28, 2026) – introducing young adults to mindfulness, body awareness, and stress management
These sessions reflect a powerful truth:
Tai Chi is for every stage of life.
From seniors to students, the practice meets people where they are—gently guiding them toward better health.
I am also excited to share that my Tai Chi classes in the Town of Minto will resume in June 2026.
These classes have always been rooted in:
Community connection
Safe, inclusive movement
Supporting healthy aging
As we return, we carry with us a renewed appreciation for how essential movement is—not just for the body, but for the spirit.
Everything I do through Vintage Vitality™ and my Tai Chi programs aligns deeply with the spirit of National Arthritis Month:
Promoting gentle, accessible movement for joint health
Encouraging fall prevention and independence
Building supportive, connected communities
Empowering individuals to age with dignity, strength, and grace
This is more than a profession—it is a calling to serve, to guide, and to walk alongside others in their wellness journey.
If you or someone you love is living with arthritis—or simply seeking a softer, more mindful way to move—I invite you to explore Tai Chi.
Whether you are joining us in the Philippines this season or in Minto this coming June, know that you are welcome.
Movement begins where you are. Healing follows when you continue.
