Reiki has been part of my personal journey for some time now, though I do not practice it on others.
I completed Reiki Level 1 and Level 2 training, as well as Reiki Level 1 for animals. For me, Reiki is a tool for self-healing and grounding — a way to connect with my own energy before or after meditation, Tai Chi, or Qigong.
Reiki is a gentle form of energy practice that originated in Japan. The word Reiki means “universal life energy.”
Through focus and intention, Reiki helps bring awareness to the flow of energy within the body, promoting relaxation, balance, and clarity of mind. For me, Reiki is not about magic or controlling someone else’s energy. It is about cultivating awareness and harmony within myself.
When I practice Reiki for myself, I sometimes feel a deeper sense of flow during my Tai Chi and Qigong sessions.
Even when I am walking outdoors or driving and noticing the trees around me, I become aware of their presence and quiet strength. I feel a deeper appreciation for nature and the beauty that surrounds us. Reiki has helped me quiet my mind, center my emotions, and stay grounded.
Although I do not offer Reiki healing sessions to others, Reiki remains an important part of my personal practice.
It is a gentle companion that supports my meditation, Tai Chi, and mindful movement, helping me cultivate a deeper awareness of myself and the world around me. Reiki, for me, will always be part of my journey.
