When we think about balance, we often imagine stillness.
Strength.
Perfection.
But true balance includes wobble.
In my Tai Chi practice, some mornings my feet are tired. My legs shift, sway, and find their rhythm. I wobble — and I keep flowing.
In meditation, thoughts arrive one by one — unfinished conversations, questions, doubts, plans. My mind wobbles too.
But I stay.
I gently remind my body and my mind:
This is my time to be still.
This is my time to be present.
And in that quiet, I find a steady center — not because I have everything figured out, but because I am practicing.
Life wobbles as well.
There are setbacks, frustrations, moments when I feel unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck.
Recently, I spent hours working through something that didn’t come easily. I was frustrated. I questioned myself. I almost walked away.
But I stayed.
And when I finally figured it out, I laughed. Not because I was perfect — because I hadn’t given up, even while wobbling.
The wobble didn’t mean failure.
It meant learning.
Wobble is not weakness.
It is adjustment.
It is awareness.
It is growth in motion.
We all wobble in different ways:
In career decisions
In relationships
In confidence
In health
In direction
I still ask myself sometimes:
Am I on the right track?
I check in. I feel. I listen.
And I notice this — there is peace.
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because I have all the answers.
But because I am showing up for myself.
The most important thing is not eliminating wobble.
It’s noticing it — and moving forward anyway.
Pause.
Breathe.
Step.
Flow.
Life is a gentle sway, a dance of balance and imbalance. Perhaps wobble is its natural rhythm.
I am still learning every day. I haven’t figured everything out. And that is exactly where I need to be.
Even in wobble, I am present, learning, and moving forward — step by step.
