On April 15, I had the privilege of leading a Vintage Vitality™ session with the dedicated staff of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in Trece Martirez, Cavite. Their work is often stressful and demanding, yet they allowed themselves to pause, breathe, and embrace one hour of wellness together.
We transformed the hallway into our practice area — proof that wellness can happen anywhere. The session included:
Gentle warm‑up exercises to release tension
A simple line dance to spark joy and relaxation
Selected moves from Sun‑Style Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, designed by Dr. Paul Lam
Closing with another round of line dance to end on a high note
For me, adding a bit of dance before and after Tai Chi creates balance:
Dance brings fun, energy, and connection
Gentle exercise prepares the body and mind for focus
Tai Chi grounds participants in calm, resilience, and flow
Dance again lifts spirits and leaves everyone smiling
This rhythm of movement makes each session more engaging and memorable.
The staff — both male and female — embraced the experience wholeheartedly. We laughed, moved, and shared a sense of community beyond their daily responsibilities. It was clear: wellness is not just physical, but emotional and social.
We will meet again tomorrow, continuing this journey of balance and resilience. Each session is a reminder that even in the busiest workplaces, there is space for Vintage Vitality™ — aging and living with dignity, strength, and grace.
