By Nelda Rodillo | Author and Creator of Vintage Vitality™
On April 9, I have the heartfelt privilege of demonstrating Sun-style Tai Chi forms for 81 cherished members of Ginintuang Binhi (Golden Seeds)—the senior community lovingly founded by my parents.
Ginintuang Binhi began in the most humble and meaningful way—right in our family home in Molino, Bacoor, Cavite. What started as simple gatherings slowly blossomed into something truly special. Today, it has grown into a vibrant and thriving community, with its own space, regular meetings, and a beautiful spirit of sharing with other organizations.
From within Ginintuang Binhi, my father, Cornelio Gatpandan, created the Shooting Stars—a group that reflected his passion for movement, creativity, and connection.
He taught them marching formations with patience and purpose, nurturing not just discipline, but also artistry and joy. Together, they performed proudly for other senior communities, carrying the light and spirit of Ginintuang Binhi wherever they went.
Even while living with arthritis and gout, my father remained active and engaged until the age of 91. His life was a living example of resilience, purpose, and graceful aging—a legacy that continues to guide me every day.
My father believed deeply that aging is not something to resist—but something to embrace with dignity, strength, and grace.
From that belief, Vintage Vitality™ was born.
It is a gentle, holistic approach that weaves together:
Mindful movement through Tai Chi for adults over 50
Inner reflection through creative journaling
Compassionate awareness of the body, mind, and life’s journey
Vintage Vitality™ is more than a program.
It is a way of honoring the wisdom, resilience, and beauty that come with age.
Tai Chi is soft, slow, and deeply powerful.
For older adults, it offers:
A renewed confidence in balance and movement
Gentle support for arthritis and mobility challenges
A calming, mind-body connection
A pathway to aging with dignity and strength
Each movement becomes a quiet reminder:
Strength can live in softness.
Vitality can grow at any stage of life.
On April 9, as I share Sun-style Tai Chi, I am offering more than movement.
I am honoring my father.
I am honoring a community.
I am honoring a legacy.
Ginintuang Binhi has always stood for resilience, creativity, and connection. Bringing Tai Chi into this space continues that beautiful tradition—supporting each member as they move with grace, reflect with compassion, and live with vitality.
My father believed in graceful aging.
Vintage Vitality™ carries that belief forward.
A soft reminder for all of us:
We are not simply growing older.
We are becoming vintage—
stronger, wiser, and beautifully full of life.
