Next week marks the beginning of a very exciting collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Cavite. I am honored to be working alongside Dr. Eloisa Rozul, head of PDRRMO, who will not only oversee the participation of her team but will also join in the training herself.
The PDRRMO plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of communities across Cavite. Their responsibilities include:
Disaster prevention and mitigation
Coordinating emergency response efforts
Ensuring community resilience during crises
Training staff to remain calm and make informed decisions under pressure
This team faces high-stakes situations where focus, composure, and stress management are essential. Supporting their mental and physical resilience is central to the safety of the communities they serve.
To help meet these challenges, I will be guiding the team through a 6-week Vintage Vitality™ program directly in their office. The program focuses on:
Gentle Tai Chi movements (Sun-style lineage, Dr. Paul Lam) to cultivate balance, rootedness, and physical awareness
Mindful movement and breath practices to regulate the nervous system under stress
Reflective exercises that encourage self-awareness and composure during high-pressure situations
While the movements are gentle, their effects are profound — helping participants stay centered, improve posture, and respond to challenges with calm clarity.
It’s important to note that this program does not replace or redefine traditional Tai Chi. We practice Sun-style Tai Chi as taught by Dr. Paul Lam, which provides the foundational movements. Vintage Vitality™ adapts these principles into a structured system designed to enhance awareness, resilience, and mindfulness for modern professional contexts.
This ensures the integrity of the lineage is preserved while allowing participants to experience its practical benefits in a workplace environment.
Over the next six weeks, the PDRRMO team will learn how subtle movement, breath, and awareness can improve focus, composure, and resilience. Documenting this process will not only provide valuable insights into the program’s effectiveness but also show how mindful movement can support community-focused professionals in high-stress roles.
I am especially excited to work alongside the head of PDRRMO, demonstrating that leadership and mindfulness go hand in hand.
This program represents another step in my ongoing mission: applying gentle Tai Chi and mindful movement beyond traditional settings while maintaining respect for the art’s lineage and integrity.
