A beautiful morning of movement, connection, and community
Grateful for everyone who gathered at the United Church in Palmerston—from across the Town of Minto—to share in gentle Tai Chi, breath, and presence.
There is something truly special about wellness in a small town.
This morning, in the heart of Town of Minto, I was reminded once again that health and well-being are not just about movement—they are about connection.
Our class was held at the United Church in Palmerston, a welcoming space that brought people together not only from Palmerston, but from across the surrounding communities of Minto.
The room was full. Familiar faces greeted one another warmly, and new faces arrived with curiosity and openness. There was a quiet friendliness in the air—the kind you often find in small towns, where people show up not just for themselves, but for each other.
This is what Small Town Wellness looks like.
And this is the heart of Vintage Vitality™.
We began our class with the flowing movements of 18 Shibashi Qigong, allowing breath and body to come into harmony.
Together, we softened.
Together, we slowed down.
Together, we arrived.
As we continued with the Five Elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water—there was a shared rhythm in the room. Moving clockwise and counterclockwise, we gently challenged coordination while staying grounded and present.
Practicing Tai Chi in a group setting creates something powerful. It becomes more than individual movement—it becomes a collective experience of balance, awareness, and support.
After class, no one was in a hurry to leave.
There were conversations, laughter, and meaningful exchanges. Some students stayed to practice a round of Sun-style Tai Chi and revisit Yang-style foundations—simply because they wanted to keep learning, keep moving, and keep being together.
Their enthusiasm for the upcoming June program was heartwarming.
But more than that, it was a reminder:
In small towns, wellness grows through relationships.
It grows through shared spaces, shared stories, and shared movement.
After the class, I took a quiet moment for myself.
With my mind relaxed and open from the practice, I turned to my journal and began to write—capturing the energy of the morning while it was still fresh.
There is something deeply meaningful about reflecting right after movement.
The body is calm.
The mind is clear.
The heart is open.
And in that space, we are able to truly appreciate what just unfolded.
In communities like Town of Minto, wellness is not rushed or complicated.
It is simple.
It is shared.
It is rooted in connection.
Through gentle practices like Tai Chi, we support not only our physical health, but also our sense of belonging—something that becomes even more meaningful as we age.
This is what we nurture through Vintage Vitality™:
A space to move with ease,
to connect with others,
and to age with strength, dignity, and grace.
